New Abstract Paintings by Rocío Rodríguez

Inhabiting movement, projection, and gesture
January 21, 2022

This is our third solo exhibition featuring Rocío Rodríguez, an artist from Atlanta who makes beautiful paintings. These were created during the pandemic and tend to be smaller than her usual work. The paintings use her specific visual language in which she creates different areas of abstraction and makes each piece of abstraction discreet, yet they work with and balance each other.

In one painting, she has a solid block at the bottom and very tentative blocks going up the canvas. She calls this unfolding as she sees how one particular object changes over time.
