Sarah Irvin’s work is about trying to understand her relationship with family members and contemplating those people, places, and memories. She discusses her process of using a stream of consciousness autobiographical text that, for the most part, she doesn't remember once she's finished the piece.
“The important thing to me is the knowledge that there is a history of text and history of meaning. The knowledge that this ink once signified something and that that is unattainable.”
This video was shot in Sarah’s studio in 2015.
