The title of this show, “Somewheres I’ve Been,” highlights the nomadic origins of Cynthia Rojas’ inspiration. Indeed, it is the colorful facades of homes in Mexico that have most inspired Rojas’ recent work.
“Annual trips to Mexico have had a major influence on my palette and I mimic the bright colors found on the facades of stucco buildings and artisan crafts throughout the outdoor markets. I am mesmerized by the combination of bright pinks, oranges, yellows and cool blues and I strive to convey the same joy felt when surrounded by such vibrance." – Cynthia Rojas
