This is a wonderful painting by Eric Blum that is very typical of his work in that the imagery is filled with shapes that are kind of eccentric. Eric says that he wants his imagery to be like something you see out of the corner of your eye or something you see in the fog. It’s elusive and mysterious.
He uses silk, which has a luminous quality that glows back, and the subject matter of his work is the light that spreads and makes everything mysterious. Eric was a photographer for many years, and this work has a kind of photographic quality with the transparencies, use, and love of the light that emanates from the canvas.
